Our GCSE Textiles course, delivered through the Eduqas specification, provides students with a creative and practical way to explore ideas, develop confidence, and express their individuality. Working with young people with mental health and medical difficulties, Textiles offers an engaging and therapeutic creative process that supports resilience, focus, and independence.
Students complete two key components: a Portfolio worth 60% of the final grade, where they develop and refine ideas through practical experimentation, and an Externally Set Assignment worth 40%, allowing them to independently respond to a creative brief. Through designing, making, researching, and evaluating, students build technical, creative, and problem-solving skills while gaining an accredited qualification that supports both future progression and personal growth.
